Welcome to this class where we’re going to learn how to create unique landscapes in our illustrations and concept art. During this class, I will be teaching you the fundamentals of environment concept design. Understanding what these core elements are and how to apply them into your process will take your artwork to the next level. Being able to design a fluent landscape for your artwork is an essential skill for any illustrator, artist or concept artist. An ability to design unique and captivating landscapes can set your artwork apart from others by creating a sense of mood, context and story-telling.
In this class we will be:
1. Unpacking and understanding the 5 fundamental elements of a good landscape painting / design, which are:

- Perspective

- Depth
-
- Value
-
- Forms
- Lighting
2. Learning about the importance of working from reference images and guiding you through a couple websites that are a great source of reference.
3. Using our new knowledge of these 5 fundamentals and the references we have collected, I will walk you through how I apply these principles to create some landscape thumbnail designs.
What will you need:
You can complete this class either using traditional or digital mediums, I have used my ipad pro and procreate to demo this class but you are welcome to use pencil, paint, ink, what ever you prefer.
